"A 'Back-as-far-as-I-can-remember' involvement with the graphic arts has for me, found it's happiest expression through the medium of watercolor. The qualities of spontaneity, informality, and warmth seem quite naturally related to the watercolor medium. And what an always-new challenge it is to capture on paper something of the beautiful effects of sunlight!"

Bart Phillips Sloane majored in art under the instruction of Frederick Gill at Philadelphia's Central High School. It was the combination of this training and talent that won him a four year scholarship to Philadelphia College of Art. There, he majored in Illustration under Henry C. Pitz and Albert Gold and developed his watercolor techniques in the classes of Frank Copeland and W. Emerton Heitland.

He has designed and painted scenery for television, and written, designed and produced animated motion picture of industry and governement.

In recent years, he has been increasing his concentration on the production of watercolor paintings. He has been encouraged by various awards and first prizes in shows in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

His work is currrently in collector's homes throughout the United States, Canada, and abroad.
